Summer Heat.

As the summer heat continues to stay in the hundreds certain things have become constants in our lives. The drone of the A/C as it battles to keep our home cool, wilted plants and overgrown grass as they fight to stay alive in the drought, and an overly energetic 2 yr old as the extreme heat makes it a chore to find ways for him to blow off some steam. Plastic swing sets burn little legs, pools have turned to the temp of bath water, and the sun beats down in competition with the thick humidity to see which can create the most sweat!

Our living room has turned into a jungle gym, where couch cushions are trampolines and pillows are easy tossed into piles on the floor for a soft landing. The poor dogs are moving targets and forever involved in a game of tag whether they want to play or not. The play room as turned into a mine field of hard plastic toys that sting the bottoms of your feet when stepped on. And afternoon naps have become just as essential for me the Momma as they are for the little one.

We have had a positive outcome from staying indoors...the ability to really focus on Potty Training. We have made some great strides in the war against diapers but we have a long way to go before we completely bid them farewell. But I have to admit that as exhausting and frustrating as the process can be...over all, I'm one proud Momma!

Aren't his little undies soo cute!
