A Little Hard Work and Sweat.

It's just amazing what a little hard work and sweat can accomplish, ok, so it was A LOT of sweat. As in we were a sticky, stinky, soaked, hot mess! But it sure was worth it, as we made some huge progress on our landscaping, finally!

We have been talking, planning, and dreaming about our landscaping since the day we bought the house...four years ago. And we have just recently reached a point in our home repairs and updates that has allowed us to free up the financial means to make this thing happen. But of course that landed us right smack dab in the middle of August, in Houston, during a heat wave, hence all the sweat! I was really questioning our decision to go ahead with this endeavor when we were lugging miniature boulders in 108 degree heat. I blame my hubby, the man is an unstoppable animal. But he sure gets things done.

There is an upside to doing your landscaping in August, turns out we are a part of a very small percentage of people who are dumb enough to want to do this in the heat, so everything is on sale! Like a 50% off sale and trust me when I say that rock isn't cheap. Guess nature is running out of good quality rock so they feel the need to charge out the wazoo for it!

I thought I would give you all a small little sneak peek at our plans for the landscaping and show off the work we got accomplished this weekend. We are focusing on the front yard for now and are going to take our time with the back and side yard cause we need a break from all the projects. We are really looking forward to just kicking back and spending sometime as a fam...it's been a long time coming and is much deserved!

We added all the moss rock (the larger ones) this weekend

Still need to get a few tons of river rock to fill in the beds.
Very time consuming...unloading takes forever and sure makes you sore!

We also put in a pool! He played in this thing for hours and hours this weekend.
Lunch Break.

We also painted our new front door this weekend, but you're going to have to wait to see it in the finished product pic.
